Now that you have met the “faces behind the words” of our social media team, I thought it would be nice for you to meet our inquiry team staff and find out a little more about what we do.
The inquiry team at Consumer Protection BC includes three Inquiry Officers (of which I am one) who are here to answer your questions about your rights and responsibilities as a BC consumer. We receive approximately 15,000 calls and emails a year. We are proud to say that we answer most of our calls live. This means that you actually get to speak to a real person and you don’t need to work your way through a confusing maze of options or wait on hold for long periods of time. If you prefer to email, fax, or send us an inquiry through the mail, you can typically expect to receive a reply within the next business day or so.
The inquiry team is also responsible for posting much of our social media content, updating our website information, keeping an eye out for emerging consumer concerns, creating consumer tips and participating in consumer education events. We are passionate about helping consumers, and we always try to provide a useful referral when needed.
