Vegas Vacations, a Richmond based travel agency, had their licence cancelled on Friday, January 9, 2026, for not having enough funds to operate. Learn more about the licence cancellation.
If you are a customer of Vegas Vacations and have not received your travel services or know that upcoming travel is not booked, you may qualify for reimbursement through the Travel Assurance Fund (TAF).
Important information about making a claim to the Travel Assurance Fund
- The TAF is a fund of last resort, which means you must try to get a refund from all other available options as part of the claim process.
- The TAF can provide reimbursement of up to $5,000 per traveller.
- You must submit your claim within six months of the date of loss. This means:
- If your travel dates have already passed (and your travel was not provided), your date of loss is the date your travel plans would have started.
- If your travel is in the future (and you know your travel is not booked), your date of loss is January 9, 2026. This is when Vegas Vacations licence was cancelled.
- If itâs been more than 6 months since your travel dates have lapsed, you are not eligible for reimbursement (and any travel prior to July 9, 2025).
Steps to make a claim to the Travel Assurance Fund
1. Fill out the Travel Assurance Fund claim form to start the process. The form will ask for information you may not have yet. Thatâs okay. We need you to start the application as soon as possible to avoid missing the 6 month deadline. You can continue to submit information and documents to your claim as you follow the steps below over time.
2. After submitting your claim, please attempt to get a refund from the following sources:
- If you paid by credit card, contact your provider right away to request a chargeback.
- If you have travel insurance, make a claim with your insurance provider.
3. Gather and submit the following supporting documents:
- Travel itinerary, booking details, and invoices from Vegas Vacations
- Proof of payment (credit card statement, e-transfer records, or cash receipts)
- Proof that travel services were not delivered or will not be delivered. For example:
- If your travel dates have already passed, please provide proof that the travel did not take place, such as any communication with Vegas Vacations and refunds outstanding.
- If your travel is in the future, confirm that your travel plans with the hotel, airline, etc. will not be provided. If there is no record of your travel plans, please share your communication with the airline, hotel, etc. showing that your bookings are not available to you.
- Provide proof that you have exhausted other options:
- If you paid by credit card and were denied a chargeback, provide a letter from your card provider indicating charges cannot be reversed.
- If you purchased travel insurance, include a letter from your insurer explaining why you are not eligible for reimbursement.
- Any additional documents that support your claim.

Please submit your TAF claim as soon as possible, along with any questions you may have. Once your claim has been received, you will be assigned a claim number, and we will follow up with you directly by email.
We will ask you for more details to support your claim and guide you through any questions you may have or additional steps you need to take.
