Summary:

Gametime is a secondary ticket selling platform operator that facilitates the sale of tickets to events held in BC.

Consumer Protection BC entered an agreement, more formally known as an undertaking, with Gametime after doing an inspection into its business practices. Consumer Protection BC alleges Gametime contravened the Ticket Sales Act (TSA) by not clearly disclosing information to consumers on an event ticket.

As part of the agreement, Gametime must change the way it discloses information to anyone buying a ticket to an event in BC. This includes clearly displaying the ticket’s face value, itemized fees, service charges and taxes, the location of the seat or standing area, terms and conditions including refund guarantees under the TSA, and the secondary ticket sellers contact information.

Gametime must also maintain an accessible address in British Columbia.
