Consumer Protection BC has suspended the licence of a home inspector based in Nanaimo, BC for:
- Failing to obtain and maintain insurance, contrary to section 7.1 (b) of the Home Inspector Licensing Regulation
The person and business with a suspended licence is:
- Steven Carmichael, who does business as A Buyer’s Choice with Steve Carmichael
- Licence suspended October 20, 2025

Carmichael is prohibited from conducting home inspections until their licence suspension is lifted.
By law, the person or business has 30 days to request a reconsideration of the decision.
