Summary:
SeatGeek is secondary ticket selling platform operator that sells or facilitates the sale of tickets to events held in BC.
Consumer Protection BC entered an agreement, more formally known as an undertaking, with SeatGeek after doing an inspection into its business practices.
Consumer Protection BC alleged SeatGeek contravened the Ticket Sales Act by not clearly disclosing all terms and conditions including guarantees on an event ticket and not clearly disclosing the secondary ticket seller’s name location and contact information on a ticket.
As part of the agreement, SeatGeek must change the way it discloses information to anyone buying a ticket to an event in BC. This includes providing contact information for the secondary seller and clearly and prominently display all ticket refund guarantees.
