Following an inspection into TELUS’ contract cancellation practices under the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, Consumer Protection BC found the company violated the Act by providing false or misleading information to an inspector and refusing to provide required information.

TELUS is ordered to improve how it responds to regulatory requests and identifies and communicates about records.

TELUS must reimburse $22,755 to Consumer Protection BC for inspection and legal costs. They must also pay administrative penalties of $10,000 for providing misleading information and $9.000 for failing to provide required information into the Consumer Advancement Fund.
