Complaints from businesses
Our consumer contract law pertains to a transaction between a consumer and a business. What you have described is a business to business transaction and therefore our laws do not apply. If you’re looking for a resolution, you may need to take legal action. There are a couple different ways to do this:
- The Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) can help you with a claim that is under $5,000. The CRT helps people to resolve their disputes quickly and affordably, to encourage a collaborative approach to dispute resolution with the business.
- In British Columbia, civil law disputes worth between $5001 and $35,000 are heard in BC Small Claims Court.
- Canadian Bar Association British Columbia Branch
