As a public body, we follow British Columbia’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA). This law gives you the right to access records we hold, while also protecting personal and sensitive business information.

Many records are already available without a formal request. Public bodies proactively make information available wherever possible, so you may not need to submit a formal request.

Per FOIPPA, it is important to recognize that you are requesting records and not answers to general questions.

You do not need to use a specific form, but your request must include enough detail and clarity for us to identify the requested records with reasonable effort and within a reasonable amount of time.
If you need help, we will work with you to clarify your request. Under FOIPPA, we have a duty to assist applicants.

Provide you with a response
We are required to respond without unreasonable delay and within thirty (30) business days, unless an extension is permitted under FOIPPA and consented to by the applicant.
Subject to Privacy Commissioner of BC authorization, applications that are abusive, malicious or that unreasonable interfere with our operations may be disregarded, where appropriate.
