January 12, 2026 SAANICH – Consumer Protection BC urges customers of Richmond based travel agency Vegas Vacations to confirm their reservations after the regulator cancelled its licence.

The licence was cancelled Friday, January 9, 2026, for having insufficient capital to operate a travel service business.

“We understand the uncertainty Vegas Vacation customers are feeling right now,” says Louise Hartland, director of public relations for Consumer Protection BC. “We encourage anyone who booked travel through Vegas Vacations to reach out to the airline, hotel, and any other travel provider they believe their travel was booked with to confirm their reservations.”

Any consumers who can’t confirm their travel should visit the Consumer Protection BC website and follow the steps to open a Travel Assurance Fund claim.

The Travel Assurance Fund is a possible source of compensation for anyone who booked with a licenced BC travel agent or wholesaler and did not receive their travel services.
