Know your contracts

When you book travel for your customers, that’s a contract. Your receipts/invoices are a key element of your contract with your customers. As a BC travel agent or wholesaler, there are specific pre-contract disclosures and contract rules in BC that you must follow.  

The law has a list of content that your pre-contract disclosures and your contract must contain for it to be legally binding. Not having this content may give your customer the automatic right to cancel their contract with you. Protect your business by following the law

Does your business do any of the following?  

• Sell services online, over the phone, or by email, fax or any other instant messaging service?
• Sell services that your customers don’t get right away (such as travel) or don’t pay for in full upfront?
