Consumer Protection BC has issued a compliance order and an administrative penalty against Parastoo Travel Ltd., a licensed BC travel agency based in Coquitlam, for:
- Failing to include the purchasers’ addresses on customer receipts for travel services, contrary to section 12.1 (b) of the Travel Industry Regulation (TIR), an administrative penalty of $3,500
The business has also been ordered to comply with the requirements of the TIR, and to reimburse Consumer Protection BC partial costs for the inspection in the amount of $600 within 30 days.
By law, the business has 30 days to request a reconsideration of the decision.
All money received from administrative penalties is deposited into the Consumer Advancement Fund (as required by section 169 of the BPCPA).
