Consumer Protection BC has suspended the licence of Big Rich’s Adult Video, an adult video store based in Vancouver BC, for:
- Selling unapproved adult films, contrary to section 3(2) of the Motion Picture Act (MPA)
- Selling approved titles without evidence of approval contrary to section 3 (4) of the MPA
- Operating while under suspension and failing to meet licence conditions in an order from Consumer Protection BC, contrary to section 8 (3) (a) and (d) MPA
The suspension will take effect November 26, 2018, through December 5, 2018. Read the licence suspension notice, additional conditions, and reasons for the decision.
During the suspension, the business is not allowed to rent, lease, sell, or supply adult films, offer to do any of those things, or generally conduct any business, including any promotion of the business to the public, as an adult film retail store.
By law, the business has 30 days to request a reconsideration of the decision.
