Consumer Protection BC has issued a compliance order and an administrative penalty against Care Funeral Services (Vancouver Island) Ltd. (DBA C.A.R.E Funeral Services), a licensed funeral provider based in Victoria BC, for:

The business has been issued a compliance order that requires the business to submit the 2020 and 2021 preneed reports by September 14, 2022, and any subsequent preneed reports within 90 days of fiscal year-end. If the reports are not submitted by September 14, 2022, the business may have their licences suspended. 

The business has also been ordered to reimburse Consumer Protection BC inspection costs in the amount of $455 within 30 days. By law, the business has 30 days to request a reconsideration of the decision. All money received from administrative penalties is deposited into the Consumer Advancement Fund (as required by section 169 of the BPCPA).
