Consumer Protection BC, the organization that classifies the motion pictures you see in BC theatres, will be classifying films for the province of Manitoba, effective July 1, 2018.

Consumer Protection BC has had a similar agreement with the province of Saskatchewan since 2007. “We are confident that we will provide outstanding service to Manitoba, just as we have done for Saskatchewan for many years,” says Steven Pelton, Director, Motion Picture Classification.

“With this change, we hope to create some efficiencies and we will be working closely with licensed film distributors to make sure they know how the new process will work moving forward,” says Pelton. “We want this transition to be as seamless as possible for them.”
