Consumer Protection BC picks up four awards for communications excellence

{June 7, 2017} VICTORIA, BC – Consumer Protection BC has just been named four-time winner of the annual Communicator Awards, an international awards program sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts that recognizes excellence in the field of marketing and communications.

Each year, The Communicator Awards receives more than 6,000 entries from companies and agencies of all sizes. Consumer Protection BC has won two Awards of Excellence (the highest honour, given to entrants whose ability to communicate positions them as the best in the field) and two Awards of Distinction (given to projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement):
  • 2017 Award of Excellence in Content & Marketing, Social Page by a Brand (for Consumer Protection BC’s Facebook page)
  • 2017 Award of Excellence in Writing, Other (for Consumer Protection BC’s consumer blog)
  • 2017 Award of Distinction in Content and Marketing, Overall Social Presence (for Consumer Protection BC’s Facebook page)
  • 2017 Award of Distinction in Video, Education (for Consumer Protection BC’s consumer story video)
Consumer Protection BC has had an active presence on Facebook since 2010 and has now grown to a following of more than 43,500, offering consumers a variety of tips, alerts, and information. Last year, Consumer Protection BC’s blog had more than 204,000 pageviews with its most well-read posts of all time being a warning about the Canada Revenue Agency scam, whether a consumer is allowed to return new car, and what to do when getting calls from a debt collector.
