Oasis Airlines & TAF Claims Deadline Print E-mail

{December 03, 2008} VICTORIA, BC – The Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority (BPCPA) wants to remind those with unused Oasis Airlines tickets (booked through a licensed BC travel agent) that December 11, 2008 is the deadline to claim under the British Columbia Travel Assurance Fund (TAF).  Any new claims received after this date will be outside of the six month time limit, and therefore may not be eligible for compensation.

To be eligible for the TAF consumers must do the following:

  1. Contact their BC licensed travel agent or wholesaler that they booked the trip through to ask for assistance or to request a refund.
  2. If travel services were purchased with a credit card, consumers should call or write to find out if the credit card company will reverse the charges.
  3. If separate travel insurance was purchased, consumers should call the insurance provider to see if it will cover the costs of the undelivered services.
  4. To find out more, or to file a claim, call the BPCPA toll free inquiry line at 1-888-564-9963 or look through the Travel Assurance Fund pages of this website.
  5. Ensure that all relevant documentation is included in your TAF claim.

All claimants who have previously submitted a claim to the TAF must provide proof that they have completed steps 1 - 3.
