{August 23, 2007} VICTORIA, BC – The Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority (BPCPA) is advising that HOTEL PACIFIC TRAVEL AGENT LTD. and TIME TRAVEL AGENT LTD. located in Richmond are not licensed to provide travel services in British Columbia.

In British Columbia, travel agencies and wholesalers are required to be licensed with the BPCPA.  A licensee must not knowingly carry on business in BC with a travel agent or wholesaler in BC who is not licensed unless the travel agent or wholesaler is exempt from licensing.

All licensees are also required to contribute to the Travel Assurance Fund.   The fund offers added protection to consumers who have purchased travel services from a BC licensed travel agent or travel wholesaler.
