Telemarketing Advisory Group Members Announced Print E-mail

{May 11, 2005} VICTORIA – The Board of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority is pleased to announce the following appointments to the Telemarketing Advisory Group:

  • Bruce Bird, Chapter Director, Canadian Association of Retired Persons
  • Wally Hill, Vice President, Public Affairs & Communications, Canadian Marketing Association
  • Mayo McDonough, Executive Director, BBB of Vancouver Island
  • Jean Mitchell, President, BC Contact Centre Association, Manager, BCIT Call Centre of Excellence
  • Mary Anne Chase, Director of Operations, BC TigerTel/UTR
  • Len Wolstenholme, Director, Regulatory & Public Affairs, XentelDM Incorporated
  • Tom R. Aquiline, Deputy Director, Industry Relations, BPCPA

“This group will be essential in providing input to the Board as the Authority moves towards licensing telemarketers on October 1, 2005,” said Frank Barr, Chair of the Authority’s Board of Directors. “Members were selected on the basis of their knowledge, skills and abilities and on their commitment to consumer protection. They will serve for a two-year term.”

The purpose of the advisory group is to identify consumer and industry related issues and potential solutions for consideration by the Authority. The group will also provide feedback on matters put forward by the Authority for consideration.
