{November 28, 2008} VICTORIA, BC – The Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority (BPCPA) is advising consumers that Brady & Company Worldwide Travel Services Inc. dba Marlin Travel, an independently owned franchise, located in New Westminster, BC, has ceased operations, effective immediately. The BPCPA has suspended the agency’s licence pending further investigation. Consumers, who have booked through the travel agency and do not receive their travel services, need to do the following:
If all of these options have been exhausted, the consumer may be eligible to claim under the Travel Assurance Fund (TAF). The TAF is a fund of last resort which offers compensation to consumers who have booked travel through a BC licensed travel agent but do not receive their travel services. Please note that the TAF does not cover all situations, including the cost of alternate travel arrangements, gift certificates, unused credits, nor will it top up insurance payments. Consumers have up to six months from the date of loss to make a claim to the TAF. If your claim meets the eligible criteria, the BPCPA may be able to help. Please call our Inquiry Centre. |
