Zoom Airlines Resources for Consumers Print E-mail

SEPTEMBER 9, 2008:

The following information has been posted on the Zoom Airlines website for customers and creditors:

Trustees and Administrators have been appointed in Canada and the UK following the suspension of operations by Zoom Airlines on August 28th.

The Zoom Airlines business comprised two companies, Canadian-based Zoom Airlines Inc. and UK-based Zoom Airlines Ltd.  Doyle Salewski Inc. in Ottawa have been appointed Trustees of Zoom Airlines Inc. which operated flights between Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Halifax, Winnipeg and Montreal and UK and European destinations and departures points.  PKF, Accountants and Business Advisers, have been appointed Administrators of Zoom Airlines Ltd., which operated scheduled flights between London Gatwick and New York, Bermuda, San Diego and Fort Lauderdale.

AUGUST 29, 2008:

American Express has stated that they will refund their customers who purchased Zoom Airlines tickets using their credit cards.

MasterCard is advising Canadians who purchased Zoom Airlines tickets with their MasterCard and who are unable to obtain a refund or replacement ticket for flights cancelled in connection with Zoom Airlines to contact their card issuers.

Visa Inc. recommends travelers who used a Visa card to purchase tickets on Zoom Airlines contact the financial institution that issued their card if they are unable to make arrangements to use their tickets on another airline as a result of Zoom's decision to cease operations. Visa cardholders in transit can contact the Visa emergency line at 1-800-VISA-911 for emergency travel assistance.

AUGUST 28, 2008:

Zoom Airlines has announced suspension of their operations on their website.  The website has listed other airlines who operate the same or similar routes to those flown with Zoom to assist consumers in making alternative travel plans to replace the flights that they had booked with Zoom.
