The National Do Not Call List (DNCL), an initiative of the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), was launched on September 30, 2008.

You can register your home phone, cellular and/or residential fax numbers on the National DNCL for free:

  • Online at;
  • By phone at 1 866 580-3625 (DNCL);
  • By TTY device at 1 888 362-5889; or
  • By fax at 1 888 362-5329.

When registering by phone or fax, you must call from the phone number to be registered. It will take approximately 30 days for your registration to take effect.

While the National DNCL rules do not apply to certain exempt organizations, they are required to establish and honour their own do-not-call lists.

Although Consumer Protection BC licenses certain segments of the telemarketing industry in BC, we are not responsible for managing the National DNCL. For inquiries and complaints regarding the National DNCL rules or telemarketing rules, phone 1 866 580-3625 (DNCL) or click
