| Canada Debt Assistance Closes Burnaby Office |

{December 23, 2008} VICTORIA, BC – The Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority (BPCPA) is advising consumers that Canada Debt Assistance (licensed name RAFP Canada Credit Services), a debt pooling company, has ceased operations at its British Columbia location in Burnaby. Canada Debt Assistance had offices in both Alberta and BC, and the BPCPA is working with its counterparts in Alberta and continues to monitor the situation. Debtors who may have any planned financial arrangements with this company are advised to review all pending payments. For those debtors with concerns and/or complaints regarding this business closure, please contact our Inquiry Centre. The BPCPA is a not for profit corporation that was created to strengthen consumer protection in BC and enforces BC’s consumer protection laws. The BPCPA balances the interests of all parties to promote a marketplace that is fair for both BC consumers and businesses.
