Consumer Protection BC is responsible for licensing and administering BC's Home Inspector regulations.

In response to requests from the industry and consumers over the last several years, as of March 31, 2009 the Home Inspector Licensing Regulation requires all individuals who assess the condition of a residential dwelling or property to be licensed in order to practice in British Columbia.

Home inspectors must meet the requirements of designated associations. For more information, please visit our page on designated associations.

If you are a licensed business or a business wishing to become licensed in the province of BC, you can find information about application requirements and procedures in the Help For Businesses section (the green tab) of this website.
