{August 1, 2007} VICTORIA, BC – The Business Practices and Consumer Protection Authority (BPCPA) is pleased to release its 2006 Annual Report as well as the BPCPA Audit Report as prepared by the Internal Audit and Advisory Services of the Ministry of Finance. Each spring, the BPCPA prepares a public report that highlights the organization’s accomplishments over the past fiscal year. This report provides statistical information, financial statements and an overview of how the BPCPA has met its operational goals according to the BPCPA three-year Business Plan. “This was a busy year with numerous operational highlights,” explains Terry Barnett, President and CEO of the BPCPA. “We look forward to the ongoing growth of the organization and continuing to build on our relationships with all stakeholders.” As part of the BPCPA’s administrative agreement with the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, the government was required to undertake a review of the operations of the BPCPA within 3 years after the organization’s creation.
