Consultation on Gift Cards and Certificates Print E-mail

May 17, 2007 - The Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General is responsible for consumer protection legislation and is considering regulating certain business practices related to gift cards, certificates and other devices with monetary value that are sold in exchange for the future purchase of goods or services. 

A consultation paper and questionnaire posted on the Ministry's website invites your comments about the need for regulation and what should be regulated.  Your views are important and will help government to consider and develop proposals for the regulation of gift cards and certificates.  Please note that the deadline for submissions is June 15, 2007.
