Reconsideration Notice: Statutory Determinations varied for Lower Mainland crematoria

{Aug. 15, 2014} VICTORIA, BC – Consumer Protection BC has completed a reconsideration of a Compliance Order and a Notice of Administrative Penalty both issued on June 17, 2013 against Pacific Crematorium Ltd. (Personal Alternative Funeral Services Ltd.) and Lawrence Little, a licensed crematoria provider based in Aldergrove, BC. After a full review of the original findings, portions of the original decisions have been varied or cancelled.

Reconsideration Notice: administrative penalty reduced for Vancouver Island funeral home

{July 11, 2014} VICTORIA, BC – Consumer Protection BC has just completed a reconsideration of a statutory determination issued against CARE Funeral Services (Vancouver Island) Ltd., a funeral services provider based in Victoria, BC. As a result, the initial $5,000 administrative penalty (for two contraventions of BC’s funeral services law) has been reduced to $2,500 (for one contravention).
