If you are a licensed telemarketer in BC, you are probably familiar with the rules that are outlined in the Telemarketing Licensing Regulations. The following checklist can serve as a quick reminder of some of your responsibilities as a licensed telemarketer under BC law:

  • Do you have a licence for each location from which you conduct business?
  • Is your licence displayed in a conspicuous location in your place of business?
  • Have you submitted any changes in licensing contacts to Consumer Protection BC?
  • Have you reported any increase in full time employees for each location to Consumer Protection BC?
  • Are you keeping the appropriate records of consumer transactions for 2 years from the date the contract was entered into, or the date the commitment was made by the consumer?
