|Do I Need a Licence?|
Consumer Protection BC issues licences to individuals who perform home inspection services based on the requirements of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act and the Home Inspector Licensing Regulation.
A "home inspector" means an individual person who engages in the business or occupation of home inspection.
"Home inspection" means an opinion given to a consumer regarding the condition of a residential dwelling or property based on a visual examination of readily accessible features and components of the dwelling or property.
Currently, the applicant for a licence has to meet the requirements of one of the designated associations or authorities to operate as a home inspector.
