The organization licenses and inspects specific industries, responds to inquiries through its Inquiry Centre, investigates alleged violations of consumer protection laws, and educates consumers and businesses about their rights and responsibilities under the law. An opportunity now exists for a talented and dedicated executive to join Consumer Protection BC’s senior leadership team as its new Vice President of Corporate Services. The VP, Corporate Services, will oversee the effective delivery of corporate human resources, information technology, facilities management and support services. As Chief Financial Officer, this position also provides critical financial expertise and planning to ensure Consumer Protection BC is financially self-sustaining, while maintaining focus on the long-term vision and acknowledging the business realities that impact the delivery of this vision.
As the ideal candidate, you are a business-oriented and customer-service focused professional, ideally with experience in both the private and public sector, working at a senior level and overseeing finance, human resource, IT and administrative services. Experience developing and implementing strategic financial business plans, financial policy and analysis, and managing financial assets and liabilities is a must. You must possess a professional accounting designation (C.A., C.G.A., C.M.A.), ideally complemented by an MBA or similar.
