The administrative agreements signed between the provincial government and Consumer Protection BC set out the terms and conditions under which the Authority will operate and remain accountable to government.
Consumer Protection BC shall be guided by the overriding consideration of promoting consumer protection in carrying out its responsibilities under the legislation and the agreement.
Section 177 of the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act, Section 59 (1) of the Cremation, Interment and Funeral Services Act, and Section 12.4 of the Motion Picture Act prescribe the agreement.

Consumer Protection BC also has an administrative agreement with the Province of Saskatchewan to provide classification services for all new theatrical releases and adult videos on behalf of the Saskatchewan Film and Video Classification Board.
